{ The ONE – blush }

Way back when I used to post about beauty products that I liked or wanted. Now we have the prettiest mood board every Monday to inspire you to try a new look.

Some things have changed over the years, the team and I have tried LITERALLY every single product. One of the perks of working in the design industry is I’ve somehow become a full on beauty editor of sorts. As a side project when I started my business, I used to be a beauty editor at Ladies Home Journal. I’d do illustrations and design work for lines like Essie, Neutrogena, even Burberry Beauty so I got to play in each beauty/skincare collection and try almost every single new concept and shade before launch. I’m a product JUNKIE and love to overanalyze everything from color, to consistency, to scent. (I mean is there anything better than the smell of new lipstick? No there is not and if I could make it a fragrance I would.)

What does this matter- besides the office beauty closet is dope? It matters because in the end we all still end up with our favorite products, and even though another black liner is around the corner, we normally end up spending our own money on the ones we can’t live without.

These favorites do end up changing by year. Last year my bush pick would have been Tata Harper’s lip and cheek tint  until they discontinued my favorite color. And before that it would have been Bobbi Brown’s cream blush stick but they don’t even exist now. Some of the picks end up being exactly what you’d think. The cult product that no one can beat, but some might surprise you. My favorite mask right now is $9.99, while my must-have night cream is a whopping $149.00. But this is an article about the all around favorites not about price point (I will try to offer similar alternatives when possible but not gonna lie about what reigns on the shelf currently.)

Make sense? And don’t get it twisted- everything is considered right down to the packaging. Oh -and one more note - this isn’t a yearly thing. If a new blush knocks it out next week so be it. In this office it’s a nonstop fight to the death.

Great good let’s talk about our reigning blush.

It’s exactly what you’d probably guess which is why we are starting here. While pretties like Lancome Blush Subtil, Givenchy Blush Memoire de Forme,  and BY TERRY Terrybly Densiless Blush, did sway us, I always return to NARS orgasm the multiple. I love it, and I keep letting it go, but it keeps finding it’s way back to me

I dig this one over the loose NARS blush because it’s easy to have on me or in my car at all times and I don’t have to worry about any compact breakage while traveling. It’s stays put like a cream, but looks like matte and the hint of golden shimmer is what makes it strong for so many skin tones.

Here she is in all her glory:
