{ you CAN judge a book by it’s cover }

As you know, this last year has been a whirlwind of excitement and hard work for me.  The most exciting adventure yet? I’m about to release my first book! For anyone tuning in now, the book is called “The Way She Wears It”, and is an illustrated guide to finding your personal style full of seasonal fashion challenges so you can rebrand your closet!

The cover of this book was an adventure in itself. It’s my first time in this process and I never knew just how much focus we’d be putting into cover design. Because I wanted it to be strong I called Vanessa at TPD Design House and we came up with not on, but two – three-four covers that we loved.  The trick was getting a cover that buyers also loved while also sticking to that inevitable book budget.

I’ve worked with Two Paper Dolls for years. IMHO when having business cards designed there is only one team to call to get it just right. They designed mine when I was just beginning my business and very particular about getting it all just right. All these years later, when I want the perfect paper products they are the team I call in. The AMAZE laser cut envelopes we used for last press kit? Two Paper Dolls. And wait until you see their invitation design. Just trust me, brides.

Anyway back to the cover they designed. Our final version has everything we need: paint splashes, rose gold/copper, and of course a fashion illustration. And is it weird if I like the back just as much as the front (you’ll see what I’m talking about)?  I am obsessed with the mix and balance and hope you are too. My dream is that you’ll put this proudly on your coffee tables, bookshelves and instagram.

We’ve answered the age old q: Turns out you CAN judge a book by its cover.
