{ nyfw day two--what i wore }

1 2 3 4

White and cream is a thing (I am sorry grandma I know you probably hate this concept) and here is how I decided to wear it on Day 2:

I began with a white, sleeveless button down with a detailed collar and added a bow tie (not a traditional bow tie, but a long tie that I tied into a floppy bow). Originally I had planned to wear this with black shorts, but when I tried it and looked in the mirror, it felt boring. I added a cream midi skirt with gold stitching and a black underlay--and poof! chic happened. Accessories included my black mulberry bag, gold watch, new brown-orange lipstick, and gold heels. It's rare that I am overly feminine with my clothes, so I pulled my hair into a messy pony (anything too styled would feel far to "done" for my personal style), kept my jewelry minimal, and balanced the look out with some cole haan shades that made the look feel a bit more modern, even though the shades had a retro feel. (This is why you need to try things on everyone, I thought these shades would have been way too theme-y but was wrong)

I am sometimes hesitant to get too girly, but ASOS may have changed my mind with this one.
